Why are people not willing to join ArchaeoSeek? It is free, you do not have
to post anything (other than your name), and we don't bite.

It is just another way of communicating online. You can post photos of
artifacts in order to get help in identifying them (something you cannot do
on Histarch), talk with other archaeologists on the forums, form your own
group, and many other aspects of coming together online.

When I called it a "social network", I did not mean truly social, but as
another way of coming together virtually. I am even thinking of doing a
virtual conference there for those of us who cannot afford to go to the
professional meetings.
