I just sent a message referring to a slave crushed under a telephone
pole, asking how this could be, since the telephone was invented after
Emancipation in the U.S., possibly not after emancipation in Brazil.  I
see, looking further down the thread, that this was not a reference to
U.S. slavery, or telephone poles, at all, but to slaves sacrificed under
the central poles of houses in the Pacific Northwest.  The "send"
feature on my e-mail was disabled briefly; it stores unsent messages,
then sends them out once the send feature recovers.  I should have
deleted this one.  My turn to SNAFU in front of the list today; my
apologies.
