Can anyone identify the backstamp on this brass button at the below link? It
looks as if the stamp was applied in reverse or backwards by mistake. The
button in the photo collection is labeled Brass Button 1 (reverse &
obverse). The obverse side is plain. It does not appear to be a quality
mark. Perhaps a manufacturer's mark? The button comes from a domestic
dwelling site which dates ca. 1810-1850. Any help would greatly be
appreciated.
