The New York Apiary Inspection workforce of Inspectors will be reduced by half to about seven inspectors for the 2006 season.

A ruling by the NY State"s Ethics Committee says that any Apiary Inspector who generates income from their own beekeeping activities can no longer work as an Apiary Inspector. Therefore half of those who worked this past season can not be hired to do the job, of an Apiary Inspector.

So, if Apiary Inspection in New York State is important to you, do something. Not for me. They can't employee me. If the program is important to you, get behind it and push. Show your support.

If it's not, let it go or show your point of view, too.
