Now that we've had an Australian introduction, perhaps it's time for someone
even further downunder to introduce themselves!
1. Who am I?
Janice Adamson - a born and bred kiwi aka New Zealander, working for a while
in archaeology after my honours degree, and have just registered as a PhD
candidate at Auckland University, looking at farmsteads destroyed during
land wars in the 1860's here. My partner, Hans-Dieter Bader has a large
archaeological consultancy here in Auckland, specialising in geophysics,
digital surveying and all the other usual things that archaeologists do.
2. Dirtiest moment in the field?
For some reason I just don't get dirty, but quite enjoy watching other
people do so!
3. What to wear?
Well, contrary to Alasdair, most kiwis wear shorts, preferably with gumboots
and a swanndri if you're really hard core (if you don't know what those
things are, google should provide the answer). I have a straw hat with
flowers on that always provokes a good reaction from people when I'm in the
field. And lots of sunscreen. Oh, and a raincoat, because it always rains here.
