Project Cataloguer
Unearthing New Castle’s Past
University of Delaware Department of Anthropology
The University of Delaware Department of Anthropology seeks a Project
Cataloguer to lead efforts in cataloguing collections from the Read
House and Gardens, a property in historic New Castle, Delaware that has
been the site of University of Delaware archaeological excavations and
research since 1995. See

The Project Cataloguer will lead a team of students to prepare a
comprehensive catalogue of the Read House collection, including
identifying and cataloguing artifacts; undertaking research and
analysis; reporting from and maintaining computer-based artifact
catalogue; and overseeing cataloguing interns and volunteers.
A degree in anthropology/archaeology or related field; experience with
computer database applications; and the ability to identify the full
range artifacts found on Mid-Atlantic historic sites are required.
Experience in a supervisory capacity is strongly preferred.
This is a temporary, full-time position beginning on or around June 1
and continuing through August 31, 2006. There is the possibility to
continue on a part-time basis through the end of 2006. The salary is
$12.00/ hour. No benefits or housing are offered.
