DELLA SCOTT-IRETON JOINS STAFF OF FLORIDA PUBLIC ARCHAEOLOGY NETWORK
The University of West Florida (UWF) is pleased to announce that Dr.
Della Scott-Ireton has been named Public Archaeologist at UWF's Florida
Public Archaeology Network Coordinating Center. The coordinating center
is located in UWF's downtown campus in historic downtown Pensacola.
Dr. Scott-Ireton is currently Underwater Archaeologist with the Florida
Division of Historical Resources, Bureau of Archaeological Research in
Tallahassee, Florida. She holds the Ph.D. in Anthropology from Florida
State University and is a Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA).
She is Treasurer of the Advisory Council on Underwater Archaeology.
In her new position, Dr. Scott-Ireton will be tasked with developing a
robust public archaeology program for northwest Florida focused on the
preservation of both terrestrial and underwater resources. More
