George Washington's Fredericksburg Foundation is seeking an Archaeology
Lab Assistant to carry out the full range of standard laboratory
procedures including the washing, sorting, and cataloging of historic
and prehistoric artifacts.
A National Historic Landmark, Ferry Farm is the plantation home where
George Washington grew to manhood. The emphasis of the archaeological
research at this outdoor museum is the colonial era, but prehistoric and
Civil War components are frequently encountered.
Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology/Archaeology
or a related field, and experience cataloging archaeological finds is a
plus. The position pays $10 an hour and is funded through 2006 with the
possibility of an extension. There are no benefits, per diem, or
housing.
