While I have never had any problems with George's emails I once had a problem where my computer was substituting fonts. My computer was spitting out emails that had tree shapes! A little research into the problem showed that arcmap fonts were being used. I had to re-install it to solve the problem.
So if you do get a message that is scrambled cut and paste it into word or something and check the font. A simple conversion to Times New Roman fixed the problem until the re-install.

This e-mail is in part response to the stoneware question and also to see
if my message gets scrambled. George and I work together so if the problem
is our server it should show up with this message--leaving all questions of
cats and dogs aside (although we do have office cats that live outside of
George's window).
Lee, could you please give some more details about the jug. Does it have
both brown and white slips? Is the brown color a body color or a slip
color? What is its overall shape? Brown jugs were ubiquitous from about
1750 to 1950 in various forms.
