I think we ought to dust off many of the old A.F.C. Wallace publications and 
give serious consideration to his theories in the days, weeks, and months to 
come as a result of the Katrina mess. I seem to recall a wonderful essay he 
wrote on human reaction to political, economic, and religious stress and the 
kinds of changes people slip into as a result. The change thresholds should be of 
paramount interst to archaeologists, not to mention people in Washington, D.C.
