XP stands for Cross Platform and will work

Win 95, 98 or ME are all derived from the original 'Chicago' specification.

Because I run my system 'my way', I do not use NT (New Technology) or XP
and rely entirely on Win 98 + various, ever increasing, flavours of Linux.
