Colleagues:

One more document has been posted on the ISEOST website.
Entitled "Panelist Questions and Answers," it is a compilation of participants'
hand-written questions and subsequent responses from several panelists. Visit
http://www.sp2.upenn.edu/iseost for answers to questions such as:

1. What do ISE educators need to know about youth development, when they
only see a group of youth one time for two hours?

2. What learning impacts should we seek for our middle-school students, how
should we measure success, and what are the implications for professional
development?

3. What are some suggestions for recruiting and retaining older youth?

4. What is the greatest challenge facing the field of ISE? What is the greatest
challenge for OST? Are they similar/different?

5. What is the role of government in setting and supporting an out-of-school
time agenda?

6. What are some of the “mistakes” that can be made when implementing ISE
during OST, especially with older youth?

7. Is there anything we can learn from the formal educators, particularly with
respect to professional development?

Enjoy!
