Jonah,
Go borrow a teepee from your neighborhood Mashuntucket Pequot Museum. And a
ladder. I smell "cross-institutional collaboration!"
The New York Hall of Science pledges its lowliest Development staffer as a
volunteer to teepee your whale. This weekend? I'll bring beer. And then
we'll destroy Ninevah!
Wait -- HIS name is "Connie?"
Avast,

Subject: Whale of a Problem
Now HERE'S a query you won't hear every day...
Our museum's icon is a concrete/steel, life-sized model of Connecticut's
state animal that sits outside the building: a (male) sperm whale. "Connie"
measures ~60 feet long. This summer marks his 30th birthday, so to speak, so
for an event we're planning a bd bash for the big guy. (Who, btw, won't
admit to being over 29.)
I thought "You know what would be unspeakably funny, plus guarantee all
kinds of photos in the press? Have the whale wear a birthday hat!"
So, any suggestions on how to get a colorful, pointy and very large birthday
hat on something that big?
My name only adds to the irony,
