ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Concerning my earlier post, I was mistaken that Robert
Russell was referring to the Space Telescope Science
Institute, when he was referring to the Space Science
Institute. One word was obviously missing there.
I certainly don't demean or diminish the wonderful
images produced. I have certainly been to the website
http://ciclops.org and know there's good work there and
valuable insight into the work of the project scientists.

I do hope people check out not only the SSI, STScI,
JPL/Caltech and other websites to discover some of
the incredible projects of science.

There has been much good publicity about the discoveries
of various probes from MER, to Cassini, Mars Odyssey, Stardust
and Deep Impact. But unfortunately, if I asked the average
visitor in our Museum, I'd bet a large number of them don't
even know the rovers are still working or that Cassini is
sending back images of Saturn and its moons.
In fact, the current show I produced (and is running
now) is called "Did You Know?." It is directly related
to explaining some of these topics to our audiences.

My own hope is that all our space exploration will bring us
evidence of life elsewhere (even if fossilized) and really
throw these evolution and teaching discussions on the list
into hyperdrive while really throwing the ID zealots
and the creationists for a loop.

Clear DARK Skies,
