Doug Somerville Apiary Officer New South Wales Agricultural Department
Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia states in his paper, Honey bee
nutrition and supplementary feeding, available at this link:
http://www.agric.nsw.gov.au/reader/3271
"Prolonged feeding of protein supplements will result in short-lived bees.
Two generations of brood can be satisfactorily obtained before this
situation develops"
Has anyone experienced this and if so, how long is short-lived? Does this
mean the life cycle is compressed or that the foraging part of the life
cycle is shortened?
