Jeffrey James on Lawrence Dillon's Quartet # 3:
>This 10-minute work was completed in 2004 and follows the composer's
>2002 String Quartet No. 2, "Flight," which explored different aspects
>of flying.
TEN MINUTES? Its an overture disguised as a string quartet unless each
of those minutes has crammed into it at least at least 3 to 4 minute's
worth of great musical content. In that case the composer has done a
great musical service to the discerning but busy listener. Mr. Dillon
may be the anti-Morton Feldman.
