ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

It's great if Educators can come to your event, eat your food and see your
place. But its even better if they see the faces and learn the names of the
people presenting the programs. I worked at an institution where, because it was
an Education Department function, the Education staff was serving drinks and
food the whole evening of an Educator's Preview. It saved a little money but
the Education staff was not free to greet and meet Educators, discuss the
Institution's programs or take bookings. Even if your Department Director and/or
CEO is available, remember, Educators will be working directly with your
Education staff so its the Education staff, the program presenters, that really
need to meet the Educators. Let the Department Director and/or the CEO serve
the food this time and get your Education people out where they belong! Don't
forget to send your hand written follow up notes the next day - that will seal
it!
