Host an ASTC RAP (Roundtable for Advancement of the Professions)in 2005!
Do you have a challenge or an innovation that would be of interest to your
colleagues? Discovery rooms, animal collections, space planning, afterschool
programs, and outdoor science parks are among the many topics that have been
explored over the past 3 years in RAPS hosted by ASTC-member museums.
Intensive 2-day forums that allow science center professionals to exchange
ideas and resources and problem-solve common issues, RAPs have provided an
important professional development opportunity for ASTC members. Both
attendees and hosts have felt enriched by the unique opportunities offered
in RAPs. Guidelines and Application Form for proposing a RAP for 2005 are at
http://www.astc.org/profdev/rapsform.htm; deadline is June 25. If you have
questions or concerns or want to discuss an idea, contact DeAnna Beane at
