OK, I'll mouth off on this again. I like ways that require no real
work/purchasing anything (Julie's clothesline suggestion is a good one -
though more feasible in San Diego than in Connecticut at the moment!)
And just curious, in re: unplugging appliances that aren't in use ---
does using a surge strip accomplish the same thing?
So, really, really cheap ways to go green:
1) Be sure the dishwasher/washing machine/dryer are full before using
them
2) Set your thermostate low and just put on a sweater when it's cold
(there's me channeling mom again)
3) Plan ahead. You can cut down on how much you have to drive by doing
the errands with as few trips as possible.
4) Vote. (Still free...)
5) And in a biodiversity tip: avoid introducing non-native predatoirs.
In other words, keep the cats inside.
Cheap as all get out,
