Job Title: Development Associate - entry level position
Department: Development
Reports to: Dir of Institutional Advancement; New York Hall of Science
Responsibilities: Exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced development
office at an established yet expanding organization. Seeking creative,
articulate, detail-oriented individual to work in corporate, foundation and
government fundraising. Individual will be responsible for researching and
writing grant proposals and reports, building the corporate partnership and
sponsorship programs, and assisting with events. S/he will manage
development systems and records. Position will also conduct research on
current and prospective funders. The Development Associate position is
enhanced by excellent working conditions and a collegial environment that
encourages initiative and learning.
Qualifications: At least two years of paid working experience, preferably in
a non-profit environment. Exceptional writing and verbal skills, expertise
with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Email (Outlook) programs, some experience
in a development office a plus. Occasional evening and weekend work
required. Bachelor's degree required.
