Position: Project Manager/Exhibition Developer
Reports to: Vice President, Science; New York Hall of Science
Responsibilities:
Manage complex projects, including: scheduling, keeping project
records and sight of project goals,and time-lines, taking part in
development of programs and exhibition/visitor studies. Activities
include coordinating and attending project meetings (in person and
via telephone conferences and via a list serve), content research,
maintenance of pro and program notes. Travel will be necessary. There
will be other assignments as required to assist the Vice President,
Science. This position is funded by multi-year foundation grants.
Necessary qualifications:
Minimum Bachelors degree in either museum studies, a life science or
informal studies. Graduate degree preferred.
Related experience working in informal science setting and/or
exhibition/educational program design development, visitor experience
assessment/or experience as part of exhibition development team.
Experience working as the primary developer on a major project(s) in
a science setting with experience coordinating project partners,
content advisors, educators, administrators and exhibition
developer/designers.
Ability to develop and/or coordinate development of creative
exhibition/programs for informal audiences.
Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and communication written
and oral skills. Essential computer skills, in a Macintosh
environment, include: Word, Excel and e-mail at a minimum.
