The mission of the Museum of Science, Boston is to stimulate interest in
and further understanding of science and technology and their importance
for individuals and for society.

*POSITION SUMMARY:*
The Vice President (VP), Exhibits/Research, Development and Production
(RDP), reports directly to the Senior Vice President for RDP. The
creation of this position was necessitated by the significant expansion
of initiatives underway in RDP as the Museum pursues its exciting and
forward thinking vision and related Capital Campaign. This key new
position is responsible for the overall management of the Exhibits
department, including leading the development and implementation of the
strategic, logistic and resource planning necessary in order to achieve
an increasingly ambitious exhibit development, design and fabrication
agenda. In collaboration with the SVP and other senior leadership of
RD&P, the VP-RDP directs the work of the Exhibits department including
the development of long-range plans for Museum exhibits; planning the
funding strategy for the Temporary Exhibits Program and long-term
exhibit development - Oversees planning and organizes activities with
other RD&P division leaders - to promote staff development and a shared
vision of the Museum's mission and oversees Exhibit department
operations. This position will work closely with the Chief Operating
Officer (COO), especially during critical times requiring immediate
action or decision-making and also during the absence of the SVP.
*QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY:*
* Requires a minimum of ten (10) years in a related environment,
preferably in a large Museum or similar institution, with strong
work experience and demonstrated success in large-scale complex
project management
* Demonstrated ability to multi-task, manage a number of competing
high demand projects simultaneously, manage a large, highly
experienced, creative and talented group of professionals in a
department that has been and will continue to be critical to the
overall success of the Museum
* Demonstrated ability to develop staff in a changing environment
and to adjust goals in response to emerging opportunities and
shifts in strategy
* Strong management, business and communication skills, with an
ability to make compelling presentations to a variety of audiences

Commensurate with experience.
