Heavens no, at least not in this way that you imply -- and lets hope that
popular culture is not deferred to for methods instruction by any of our peers.
But I would suggest this as an ancillary resource potentially useful for
Public Archaeology courses. It serves contemporary archaeologists as an
example for how the general publics' knowledge is formulated and provides
some insight about what kind of knowledge our public comes with when they
visit historical archaeology sites. The theoretical treatises and core
studies covered in those courses tend to deal with how publics learn about
the past as opposed to "what" the public has learned.
