For a good summary of the evolution of the United States copyright
laws there is a book by Siva Viadhyanathan titled Copyrights and
Copywrongs: The Rise of Intellectual Property and How it Threatens
Creativity. Published by New York University Press in 2001. I picked up a
copy about a year ago at a remaindered price from the Edward R. Hamilton
book list.

Peace,
George L. Miller
