ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************
Dear colleagues,
Many of you know Dave Taylor, the long time Director of Exhibits at Pacific
Science Center who a few year "retired" to pursue a Ph.D. to study how
people, especially girls, learn best in informal science education settings.
Dave now faces a major health challenge. Several months ago, he contracted
bacterial pneumonia that also infected his heart. Major doses of
antibiotics cleared up the infection, but overwhelmed his liver. He now
needs a liver transplant. He has severe physical limitations until he
becomes eligible for a transplant in early July.
I know he would appreciate getting cards from colleagues that he knows in
the field. If you would like to send more than a card, he spends much of
his time watching videos (VHS only) or listening to books on tape. His
interest in books and tapes are wide ranging, including science fiction,
mysteries, biographies and suspense thrillers. His address is:
Whittier Care and Rehabilitation Center
820 NW 95th
Seattle, WA 98117
If you know colleagues of Dave's that are not likely to see this on the ISEN
listserv or are not on the Send To list, please feel free to forward it on.
Thanks,
Dennis
