Carol,
Good points all, and to some degree illustrates Mary's point about too much
personalization in interpretation: Most of the times when I did play with
girls, they were with their brothers, who were either smaller or couldn't
otherwise get rid of them (pre-adolscent). Not having any siblings (can you
tell?) I sometimes forget about that equation. Some of those young ladies
gave scars as good as they got, in fact.
Your point about the effects of costume on "site formation" is excellent,
and right on the money for my generation.
So, let me know when you want to arm-wrestle (hee, hee) -- you ought to be
able to take "gramPA" as the twins and little stuff refer to me!
Mary who elevated this discussion are to be commended, as are Bob and the
others. There's nothing more anthropological than serious play.
And thanks to Ed for clarifying the shell-driveway comments. I've been doing
some 106 work out at Wallops and found you had been there before me.
Tim T.
