For many years, product research - i.e. taste tests of new food products -
was
conducted at Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry - and may still be 
going on.  The kitchen and testing area were parts of an exhibition about
food, 
nutrition etc - I think it was Borden's originally.  It was best known for
the live
chick hatchery in the exhibition.

There was an agreed protocol in place, but beyond that the tests were
carried 
out without supervision by the Museum.
