ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************
As part of Marvelous Molecules we, the New York Hall of
Science, have had a Flir Infra Red Camera for almost 10 years
(actually we are on our second camera) with minor difficulties. The
back wall has HEAT written with very small light bulbs within the
wall (backwards so it reads correctly on the tv monitor). Hand prints
on the wall are easily detected by the camera. One aspect of the
exhibit that had to be unfortunately abandoned were color prints that
visitors purchased for $.50. It was popular to purchase a souvenir
infra red print. at the exhibition. Our exhibition shop was not
overly saddened by the departure of the printer and the change
apparatus. The exhibit text relates the infra red image of the
visitors body to molecular metabolic activity. Well, not exactly all
of those words.
Cheers,
