the "sparking reaction" project we did at the Sellafield Visitors Centre had
a similar objective, in that we wanted people to actively engage with the
debate surrounding nuclear power and energy supply. Where we differed was
that the exhibition had to be editorially independent (from ourselves and
from the client body, British Nuclear Fuels) so we didn't promote any
specific actions. If you look at the accompanying website
(www.sparkingreaction.info) we included a section called "Take Action" which
offers visitors some choices about things they can do, ranging from changing
their electricity supplier to joining a pressure group. We haven't tracked
the take-up of this, but the feedback system (in the exhibition and on the
website) reveals a healthy debate under way.
If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.

Andy

Subject: Inspiring behavior change for the environment
* Has anyone ever attempted to get visitors to change a specific behavior
(don't buy this; or do buy that) in support of an environmental conservation
goal?
