Martin,
Im not quite sure what you mean by an ice core
in the exhibit, but there are several exhibits I know
of that use refrigeration units.
One is the ice wall in the Titanic exhibit. It has a
separate refrigeration unit which is attached to a
metal sheet that has metal tubing welded to the
back of it. It builds up around a 4 inch thick ice
sheet.
Another is the bubble freezer that I saw at the
Exploratorium several years ago. It has a refrig.
unit in the base and which keeps around a 4 foot
clear cube (open top) cold so bubbles will freeze
as they float down into it.

Subject: ice core exhibit
Has anyone seen or built an exhibit containing an ice core? I
am interested in the nuts and bolts (especially refrigeration and
anti-fogging).
Cheers,
