I want to caution folks not to substitue sarcasm for political astuteness.
It is fairly easy to poke fun at what seems to be silly statements and lack
of logic. This is what liberals typically do to discredit their seemingly
ignorant opponents. In reality the struggle is not between reason and
non-reason, but is a political battle to keep channels open to the hearts
and minds of young people and to get protection from those in power promised
under the constitution . Remember how liberals laughed at that "ignorant
racist" Jesse Helms? This man got access to the corridors of power and
threatened the constitution for years, only letting go when his health
demanded it. Are liberals still laughing? He may have sounded stupid to you
but he wasn't.

Lets put our energy into political awareness and strategy rather than
fiddling while Rome burns.

Phil Edgerton, Asheville, NC
