I replied to Alain on a French list, but in case you would be interested,
the composer is TON-THAT TIET (circumflex accents on the O, A and E, and an
acute accent on top of this on the A and the E), he definitely is a major
composer of our time, together with Nguyen-Thien Dao mentionned by D.T.Phi,
and lives near Paris. Although his technique can be classified as "Western
modernism", the spirit underlying it is profoundly Asian, through oriental
philosophies. I will certainly post about him in a while. At least four
records feature music of his, and they should still be available.
