Maestro James Levine and Other Music Greats Appear at the New York Public
Library for the Performing Arts
A performance on Sunday, March 14, at 7 P.M., will feature Maestro James
Levine and percussionists from the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. The
program will feature "Ionisation" by Varese, a piece for which the Music
Division of NYPL owns the manuscript. The manuscript has already been
consulted by the performers to clear up discrepancies in the published
score.
Admission is free, and the audience will be accommodated on a first-come,
first-served basis.
During the two-year renovation of the Library's Lincoln Center building,
the Performing Arts Library's public programs take place at the Great Hall,
Cooper Union, 7th Street at 3rd Avenue near Astor Place. For information,
call (212) 642-0142.
