Every day, I start my classical-music web surfing with a site called Music
& Vision, located, I believe, in the UK. The site presents performance
notes and schedules from all over, not just the British isles, as well as
reviews and articles. The latter have consistently been of the highest
quality, including a sort of performer's credo from Gillian Weir and a
splendid multi-part study of 19th-century harmony by Wilfrid Mellers. The
latter comes with musical examples playable on machines with sound cards
and MIDI players. I learned as much about Chopin in one session with
Mellers as I've learned in all my preceding decades. It all reminds me of
Gramophone in its glory days. I can't recommend Music & Vision highly
enough. The URL:
