I was sorry when I heard about the death of Robert Shaw.  I`d like to hear
opinions on his recording of Verdi`s Requiem (TELARC).  By the way, if
there is, to me, a "Comforting Music", then it has to be Verdi`s Requiem,
the greatest choral work of the 19th Century.  I have four recordings -
Gardiner (Philips), Muti (EMI Forte), Abbado (DG, with the Scala forces),
and Fricsay (DG, live) and a video (Abbado with the London Philharmonic) -
but I want more...
