Watch out for those Tring recordings. I have heard two and the sound is
very white and bloodless.
I have both Planets. I haven't played the earlier one in a while, though
I just heard the newer one, but I seem to remember it as lighter in weight
and faster. An interesting performance, but the LSO recording was more
noble, deeper and broader. If there is anything to object to on the part
of some, it might be the quite slow Mars.
If I get a chance to play the earlier one, I'll respond off list.
