I might not have been very enamored of Goode's Bach, but my local Hastings
sure is. I was there this afternoon to pick up one or two videos for my
grandson and noticed that Hastings has 11 copies of the Goode disc on the
shelves. They'll be lucky to sell just one; I already bought mine at
another store, and Albuquerque isn't exactly loaded with folks who would
even know who Goode is.
Just another example of self-defeating ordering decisions. In a town like
Albuquerque, I wouldn't order more than two copies, and I'd consider myself
fortunate if they both sold within a month. Hastings has had two copies
of Gergiev's "Boris" for about 2 months. They just sit there looking so
impressive. I do like the cover. As for Goode's cover, discard it as soon
as you get home - it's useless anyways and takes up space. I did show it
to my dog who then ran under the bed(I threw a "treat" there to insure the
desired results).
