There are not many pieces I have sought out more than 5 times a year,
but there are those I consider my comfort pieces even though they may
sit unheard for many months.
Bach: Goldberg Variations (Gould's 2nd, humming and all); Sonatas for viola
de gamba and harpsichord.
Bartok: Music for strings, percussion and celesta
Brahms: violin concerto, 1st symphony
Beethoven: 4th piano concerto, 9th symphony, various piano sonatas
Chopin: 2nd piano sonata
Dvorak: cello symphony
Faure: various music for cello especially Elegie op. 24
Mahler: 2nd symphony
Petterson: 7th symphony
Schubert: string quartet 15 and string quintet
Wagner: Tannhauser overture
