Museum Educator-Floor programs educator and part-time team manager


Would you like to give the world to Exploris visitors each day?


Exploris, the world's first global museum, is dedicated to engaging visitors
in our changing and interconnected world. Located in downtown Raleigh, North
Carolina, Exploris engages visitors in dynamic, interactive exhibits,
programs and films that explore our world from many perspectives. 

Exploris seeks a dynamic museum educator with strong programming and floor
management experience. 


Responsibilities
·     Conduct informal programs on the exhibit floor with diverse
audiences; 
·     Develop and conduct tours
·     Schedule and manage the part-time programs team
·     Coordinate the schedule of events on the museum floor
·     Maintain exhibit and program areas

Qualifications
·     Bachelor's degree in museum studies, education, the humanities or
social sciences
·     3 years professional experience conducting programs in a museum
setting
·     Proven record of successful work with groups of young adults
·     Supervisory experience
·     Intermediate skills in MS Office and the Internet
·     Success in multi-tasking and time management 
·     Must be self-motivated, forward-looking and creative, have an
infectious passion for the world around you, be quick to respond to changing
circumstances, and view this position as an opportunity to test new ideas  
·     Prefer experience living or working outside the US
·     Proven commitment to Exploris mission of engaging people in our
changing and interconnected world

Schedule
This is a full-time, 40 hour/week position, with a regular Tuesday-Saturday
schedule.  Some holiday work is required.
