I am doing research as part of the Center for Inquiry in Science Teaching &
Learning based at Wash U in St Louis.
My husband went to a Royal Society lecture in London a few years ago where
Donald Broadbent - a leader in Cognitive Psychology - discussed a very
interesting model of inquiry.
He discussed his own work in teaching inquiry to children and presented a
model in which children first formed a naive theory and were then surprised
by an effect which required them to update that theory. Does anyone know
where I can find references or descriptions of this work?
Thanks
Tammy
