	Biosis Research Pty. Ltd., one of Australia's leading consulting
firms in both Cultural and Natural Heritage management and impact
assessment, is seeking to appoint a Consultant Archaeologist in our
Melbourne Office.  The position will be part of the Melbourne Resource
Group of Biosis Research.

	Biosis Research has undertaken cultural heritage projects
throughout southeast Australia and employs a highly experienced
multi-disciplinary team that includes Archaeologists, Zoologists,
Botanists and GIS Operators.  We have offices in Melbourne, Sydney,
Ballarat and Queanbeyan.

	Our Melbourne office is located just south of the CBD within the
fast developing Port Melbourne area.  This provides access to all the
services of Melbourne without the hassle and costs of traffic and
parking.


	Consultant Archaeologist


	The main criterion for this position is sufficient
archaeological field skills and experience in archaeology to provide
cultural heritage advice and guidance to our clients.  Your
responsibilities will include participating in, conducting and managing
projects; the production of technical reports and providing technical
advice to our clients.  Additional duties will include proposal writing,
marketing, maintaining a profile in the professional community as an
archaeologist and contributing to the functioning of the Melbourne
office.

	 

	Applicants should have appropriate tertiary qualifications and
approximately three years field experience in Archaeology.  Previous
consulting experience is not essential, but is highly desirable.  A
background in applying current heritage legislation, previous
archaeological fieldwork experience in Australian Aboriginal and
historical archaeology, a history of managing projects and
well-developed team skills (including excellent communication) will be
well regarded.  Competency with computers and a current manual driver's
licence are essential, along with a keen desire to be part of a team of
specialist consultants.
