This evening I saw a Discovery Channel show on an investigation of a B-29
bomber that went down in Lake Mead. Instantly, I recalled having lunch with Don
Tuohy of the Nevada State Museum and hearing his harrowing tale of crashing in
a B-29 in a lake after World War II. Apparently the one in Lake Mead was not
his, as his name was not included on the crash report in tonight's show. Does
anyone know if Don's experience has been recorded for oral history and if there
has been any underwater examination of his wreck? Don, Claude Warren, and I
had lunch that day...must have been about ten years ago.
