Since Streisand's new album sold less than 200,000 copies in its first
week, should I assume that Clay is more than three times more talented
than Ms. Streisand. No, talent by itself couldn't possibly begin to
explain the sales results. I suppose that in addition to the immense
power of television, the 'newness' of Clay plays a significant part.
Americans love the 'next big thing'.
