Verdi's REQUIEM is, to me, one of those pieces that can give everyone
what they want. You want special gumption *and* history, try Toscanini.
You want excellence *and* sonic brilliance, try Shaw (BTW: Shaw was
chorus master on the Toscanini). You want tasteful *and* fidelity
potential of CD (i.e. dynamic range), try Gardiner.
