Specular reflection off of a dull-looking piece of steel was my
favorite trick when we had an IR camera here with a traveling
exhibit. (The surface roughness was enough to scatter (shorter)
visible wavelengths but not (longer) IR wavelengths, apparently.)
Check it out, all you lucky people with IR cameras!
I wanted to take a hand mirror from Walgreen's and replace the glass
with a piece of galvanized steel, but I never got around to it.
