My client has requested information on the possible date range for the
manufacture of brown jugs. The question arose because of a large stoneware
jug recovered from a CCC camp privy in western Colorado. The artifact has
no decoration or makeršs mark and it is a medium brown in color, both on the
top and the body. Jug capacity is calculated at approximately 1 US gallon.
I am looking for information about the possible range of years during which
such a jug could have been produced. Any help is appreciated.
