Barbara,

I wrote and article with Terry Klein that proposed a model for raking
farmstead sites in terms of their research potential as an alternative way
of evaluating sites for NRHP eligibility. It was published in a special
volume on farmstead archaeology published by Northeast Historical
Archaeology Volume 30-31. The article is:

George L. Miller and Terry H. Klein
2001-2 A System for Ranking the Research Potential of Nineteenth- and
Twentieth Century Farmstead Sites. Northeast Historical Archaeology
30-31:155-167.
