The State of florida has a structures report and history. Be sure to use the
words Zachary Taylor. They use the complete name.
Spent a good part of a wek at the site in the early 1990's but not versed on
current conditions.
Materials recovere in the 70's ? and 80's in a manner hardly meeting
archaeological standards. A huge collection of wonderful stuff that has deteriated
over the years in a sub standard environment. No matter how much the state cared
it was an overpowering task and items were lost. ( no one should fault Herb
Bump)
We , the state of Alabama, recieved some items on loan in order to get
preservation.
They state was trying to redo the moat look at one point, it was originally
completly surrounded by water on the coast, and a lot of material was broght up
from fill by machines.
am looking for my copy of the old report to get the cite.
