Because of some of the "discussions" occuring on Beekeeping Lists lately I'd like to solicit people's opinions of where diseases of honeybees have come from. My opinion is that alot of the diseases are, and probably have been, naturally occuring. But then they are made to be highly noticeable by concentrating many colonies in one place. Not to mention other modern practices.
What do you all think?
I didn't ask about pests, but some will want to include them, I'm sure. So go ahead.
Before anyone jumps to any assumptions about why I'm asking, I'm not going retool my operation to the 10th century.
