This headline from the Birmingham paper...
Africanized bees, nicknamed "killer bees," have been trapped for the
first time in Alabama, state Agriculture Commissioner Ron Sparks said
Tuesday.
The more aggressive bees were caught in Mobile County in a routine
trapping program conducted by the Department of Agriculture and
Industries. In the last two weeks, four of the six bee swarms trapped
there have tested positive as Africanized bees.
First time east of Texas, in any numbers I believe.
